In 1963, Jim Canova, started Tech Electronics on Manchester Road in the historic Dogtown neighborhood
After recognizing a local need for school intercom systems, Jim Canova, founded Tech Electronics and began selling and installing public address systems in the growing St. Louis County School District. Over the years the company expanded into hospitals, nursing homes, and hotels, adding fire alarm, nurse call, and closed-circuit TV systems to its repertoire. Today, Tech Electronics has over 350 employees with offices in St. Louis, Columbia and Springfield MO, Bloomington, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City and Topeka, KS, and Denver, CO. Tech still continues to be a family-owned and operated business delivering a wide-range of life safety and communication systems across the I-70 corridor from Colorado to Indiana.
