Tech Electronics Provides Feature-rich Cloud Voice Upgrade for City of Battlefield

BACKGROUND
Battlefield is a small municipality in the Springfield, Missouri metropolitan area, named for its proximity to the site of the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, one of the first large battles of the Civil War. Battlefield’s municipal building and police department were previously operating on an outdated voice system, and were dealing with a few practical issues due to a shared workspace arrangement. As a result, Battlefield turned to Tech Electronics for a solution that would not only update their technology, but also address these pain points.
THE STORY:
Tech Electronics upgraded Battlefield to a cloud voice offering from Sequre, providing them with an affordable voice solution that also provided feature functionality to address their specific needs.
“Since Battlefield anticipated a move to separate facilities in the future, a cloud voice solution with softphone functionality seemed like a no-brainer fit,” said Bryan Walker, Technology Solutions Specialist for Tech Electronics. “It will afford them a seamless transition when the time comes, as well as the flexibility to move devices easily between the two locations, if and when their needs change.”
Beyond the softphone function, Battlefield has already begun to observe operating efficiency benefits from their new system.
“The call forwarding and direct dialing have really made everyone’s lives a lot simpler,” said Tommy VanHorn, City Administrator for City of Battlefield. “There’s a lot less unnecessary ringing around the office, and it’s much simpler for people to reach who they’re trying to talk to at any given time, especially outside the office.”
Apart from feature functionality, Battlefield also highlighted Tech’s smooth implementation process and customer service as a significant value add in the experience.
“Even the day we launched, everything worked super smoothly,” VanHorn said. “Things were in place as promised, and when a few minor changes needed to be made on the fly, Tech adjusted within minutes. I really have to shout out (Senior Systems Implementation Specialist) Joyce Lemaster, who was very helpful and a pleasure to work with at every point in the process.”
