Tech Helps Meet MUHC’s Technology Needs on Time and on Budget

Tech Electronics provided MUHC with numerous solutions across a spectrum of technologies, and offered a financing structure that accommodated MUHC’s budget.
OVERVIEW:
The Maryville University Hockey Center is a state-of-the-art ice and multi-sport facility in Chesterfield, Missouri, opened in 2019. The facility is a public-private partnership, developed by Mia Rose Holdings and the Staenberg Group, and is owned and operated by Chesterfield Hockey Association, a local non-profit organization. The MUHC features two NHL regulation-size rinks, locker rooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms, offices, and a 2nd floor bar/restaurant. The MUHC provides a home for both youth and adult recreational and competitive leagues, and aims to establish a high standard for hockey facilities in the Midwest.
Tech Electronics had an existing relationship with the MUHC as a donor from the project’s early stages. Tom Kaiman, Principal of Mia Rose Holdings, met with Tech Electronics to discuss the facility’s technology needs. Given the project’s scope and ambition, the primary challenge was finding a cost-effective way to equip the MUHC with technology that would help establish it as an area leader.
SOLUTION:
Tech Electronics established itself as a primary technology partner for the MUHC, furnishing a full suite of technology solutions. The technologies Tech provided include fire alarm, security, monitoring, cloud voice, public use Wi-Fi, sound systems, audio-visual and more. In order to stay within MUHC’s budget, Tech offered a financing plan that also includes peace of mind warranties on systems provided.
“Tech has a number of hockey families in our ranks, so getting involved in a project like this was a no-brainer for us,” says Chris Wilhelm, Executive Director of Construction for Tech Electronics. “Helping the local hockey scene thrive is an effort that’s near and dear to our hearts, and it was clear that our technologies were a good fit for their needs.”
The facility opened on schedule in August of 2019 and serves as the home of Chesterfield Hockey Association, as well as primary tenant Maryville University’s club hockey team, the Maryville University Saints, and Chaminade College Preparatory School’s hockey team, the Chaminade Red Devils.
